Forest Hills Presbyterian Preschoolers Visit LowellArts!

LOWELL - 1/22/13: Forest Hills Presbyterian Preschool children spent a fun day in Lowell today, learning about the art of Jackson Pollock and Claude Monet. It was part of the "Young Five" Program's second annual art art excursion. They not only learned about the differing artistic styles but also got to create their own art at two local galleries.

The youngsters, teacher's aides and several parents, first visited Glass House Design, owned and operated by Susan Molnar, where they each created a 2"x3" glass tile. Once fired in the Gallery's kiln, the finished tiles will be assembled around a mirror.

Afterwards, they walked to LowellArts! King Gallery. After looking at the art exhibit on display, the children were encouraged to create their own collage or mask using the wide variety of art materials available.
